About a cosplay group

I might be able to do a cosplay group with anyone if they are interested or join a group if we got to know each other and wanted me to join.
I never done a cosplay group before and I would need time to get a cosplay and stuff and maybe to get to know the other people too which I would be in the group with. I posted another thread on the general board section about myself and stuff if anyone wants to read it. Also I would like to make some friends to go to Nom-Con with this year too if anyone wants too?

I got chatting to the guys standing in front of me in the queue for con passes, and later i hung out with a bunch of Death Note cosplayers caz i happened to be Matt from DN <3

So the people you met last year at the con, will get to hang out with you again this year, thats kool. If I could do that, I would be happy but its hard for me to make friends and then meet them again the following year or sometime during that year.

Hiya! Don't worry! A cosplay group is a good idea to meet people, but even just going to the convention will be plenty I know for a fact that there are a good few newbies going, and you're not the only one going alone either (example me: alone, completely new to this, and judging by the age thread waaay older than at least half the convention, so I volunteered to be a maid in the cafe so I wouldn't be standing around awkwardly ) so there'll probably be a big group of people in the exact same situation as you are you can't wait to hang around with you. If you're not sure who to cosplay, there's a good few threads already set up for group cosplays such as naruto, or even highschool of the dead (everyone loves zombies and they're one of the cheapest to cosplay . You could just find someone (or a version of someone) that isn't being cosplayed yet and jump right in! I like Hetaliafangirls advice, in that you should sit down and think of all the anime / manga you like, and see if anyone stands out as similar looking to you, or similar in personality, or you like the character, like their clothing, and so on. When you find a cosplay that suits you, you know you'll enjoy it, and people will appreciate the thought you've put in too

Well im not new to the convention part per say, im only new to cosplaying. I have been to 2 conventions so far so I know what happens at them and what they are about. The only hard part is getting a cosplay and finding one that I think looks good on me or suits me I guess. Hopefully I will get one by then.
By the way are characters from games considered able to cosplay at the con's cas since they are not anime im just wondering would they work at it. The reason im asking is cas I have some game characters I might be able to cosplay as maybe one favourite character that I like?

Well, usually for my cosplays - I pick a character that I like and people would know of, simply because I like attention and being asked for photos, but you can pick a character that's unknown that you really love. If money isn't an object, pick a character you love and look sorta like and BUY IT. If it an object, slap on a white t-shirt, buy a cheap place wig, hair spray and jeans and cosplay as L from Death Note.

Yea, i think anything goes really, game characters, manga characters, anime characters, mascots, or I think I seen a post were one person said they were going as a tetris block But game characters definitely count

Well if game characters are welcome then maybe I might have some ideas for a cosplay if it works out. That money thing you were talking about Trina does sound like a good idea if I can't afford a cosplay. The thing about cosplay's is if I try to order them off the internet it can be hard cas size and payments and stuff all come into a factor so I never like trying to buy one of the internet, I like to see one in a shop and go in check it out and then maybe buy it if im interested but there is no shops here that do that from what I know of.

Also another issue I want to discuss is, this is a nom-con sire right so how would I talk to friends on this, get to know them by talking to them for a long time and then trying to keep in contact with them until the cons so we could meet up and not seem pushy about it or something like that?

Haha, wouldn't mind knowing someone other than myself at the con either (^^,') If it was me, I'd probably set up a thread in the members hall saying that you want to make friends for the con, and see if anyone is interested in meeting up at whatever place (e.g. the park, cinema, wherever - just remember to say the town) at whatever time and day to hang out. That way anyone who's in the same situation as you can just reply to the thread and hopefully a big pile of people will all meet up and your sure to come away with some new friends.

Well I never heard of LittleKuriboh before but I know who Mignonga is, the voice for FMA. I think when I went to one of the 2 cons, he was there at it but I didnt know him at the time so I thought he was just a regular guy lol.
I never seen Hetalia or Soul Eater but I seen FMA and the movie too. I liked it

I could'nt understand that bit you said at the end, whats Imma Midget, is it an anime and also Potkettle, never heard fo that either?

Well im into anime too but I coud'nt get into manga. I tried reading it once but it just would'nt stick in my head like anime.
Anime's I have seen, lets see: FMA, Air Gear, Sailor Moon but not all episodes and my favourite would be Sky Girls, I really liked that anime
I hav'nt seen many others but I seen anime films tho and I liked them too.
