Hi everyone!
Ok this is the thread where you can say what you liked and of course tell us the things you didn't like so we can make this con even better for you next year! =) I've already seen some feedback here and there and thanks so much to all! ^^
Thanks so so much for coming along to Nom-con and making it such a great weekend not just for other attendees but for myself and all the other staff that worked on the con =) We had such a great time!
One of my favourite highlights was probably the skits! The whole thing went so smooth and the team Giblets video they made specially for nom-con was hilarious! ^__^ Also John Swasey was such a legend and one of the soundest guys you'll ever meet. =)
We did make mistakes here and there in terms of organisation and we'll be working hard to improve on those so that next year will be even better!
Apologies to anyone who survived our closing ceremony! ^^; The auction took a lot longer than we ever imagined and we just went crazy with raising money for Brainwave, our charity this year! haha We managed to raise over €1,700 which was just incredible!!
One of the funniest situation at the con was during the closing ceremony I went down to apologise to Andrew Partridge from Beez about it taking forever;
Me: Andrew I'm so so sorry about how long this is going on for! Andrew: No it's ok it's not your fault, these things can just take a long time. Ok, so what are we going to do to make this never ending story finish before I gnaw my own leg off. Who have we got left to thank apart from Jesus? (yes some thanked Jesus!) XD *group huddle in front of the stage*
Anyway Andrew went up and saves us all by wrapping up everything in about 3 minutes! XD Many thanks to Andrew on that and the many other times he helped/saved us ^^
haha anyway sorry for my long ramble. Feedback away!!

I wouldn't worry too much about the running late with the closing ceremony. When a con genuinly is good nobody wants it to end. Nom-con for me was simply phenominal

Loved every minute of it mate! Twas a great job all round from everybody. The only thing i'd like to suggest would be more crowd interactivity with certain panels. Like the giant twister had like 6 people on it and everyone else was just kinda standing around watching them.
Also Moar John Swasey! =D

The Maid Cafe - this was really really nice, but I've one small suggestion. If you get the little ladybug/ladybird cakes again is it possible to get a less rich version? They were absolutely adorable, but they were so rich I could only manage half of mine and it still made me feel ill.
Hmmm, I was wondering there was a poster who was going to sell cupcakes at the con, but was unable to due to the hotel saying no. Maybe next year the Maid Cafe could sell them instead?

I could only eat 2 bites of my ladybug cake cause of the richness. But they were delicious. :3

I must say I went another festival this year that was in its fourth year I think and it was a disaster of a festival, but nom con was very well organised and laid out and things, its was very very impressive for it being its first year One thing I might suggest is that the PC gaming was just one PC in the corner, I know ye were caught for space and things there so I'm not complaining or anything but PC gaming is usually one PC per person. So you would have been playing a game on your own in a corner. If ye could maybe increase the number to mabey 4 PC's.......... they'd take up a bit of space though is their downside. If ye could connect it to an external gaming server even people who cant make nom con could still play against the people there online?

I was in charge of the Twister(which falls into my party games coordinating). I agree with you when not many people interacted enough with the Twister. I did try calling (or yelling XD) at people to join in on the fun, but I found that some were a bit shy I think for next year I would like to make the Twister much, much bigger, like the Musical Chairs, so maybe more people would be encouraged to interact. To be honest Musical Chairs was never planned to be THAT big, but it just exploded with people and there was such a demand, which I thought was unbelievable! Seriously, I had random staff members come up to me during it asking 'What the hell just happened? What did you do??' and I just said 'I have absolutely NO idea!'. You guys are so much fun, I couldn't stop laughing at the first time I ran it XD Next year I will have an entire giant hall to myself to run events(kind of like the size we had for skits/closing ceremony), meaning they will be much, much bigger and hopefully better

I've got only one piece of feedback that I'mgonna put up publicly anything else I'll tell y'all in person at some point..
DON'T USE WIKIPEDIA FOR YOUR PUB QUIZ INFO.
There is a reason that colleges give a zero when it is used as a reference.

I had an absolute blast at Nom Con but I do have one or two things I'd like to point out our suggest.
While everything was organised brilliantly, I really felt that certain things fell apart because of crowd control and structure. The Hentai panel would have been a really interesting and fun but it was ruined for me when every two seconds someone shouted or the crowd went mad and I felt bad for the girls running it because they'd obviously done their homework. I also left the talk early because during the Yaoi section a group behind me were booing and one or two were making derogatory remarks about gay people and it really flipping annoyed me and I think that if the crowd had been under better control then I think more folk would have heard these people. I probably should have said something to someone in charge but everyone was having fun and I didnt want to spoil anyone's time. I know the panel was meant to be fun but it is possible to have structure and still allow the audience to interact. The same thing happened at the auction with people making bogus or fake bids (i.e. the guy who would only outbid people by a 1 euro and had no actual intention of buying anything or the guy who kept offering his balloon...funny the first time but it dragged things out a little longer)
The Nom Con staff were absolutely wonderful and so helpful and more importantly they were always visible and eager to help in anyway possible. However and I know you guys don't have any actual control over this but over the course of the weekend I found the Hotel staff to be rude and at times offensive and I know for a fact I wasn't the only one. On a number of occasions I overheard staff, make reference to the attendees to the event as 'freaks' and even mocking people in cosplay. Saturday morning I was getting breakfast and a man in front of me, obviously not attending the Con, asked the man on the register what was going in the hotel and he replied he wasn't sure but it looked like a 'freakshow'. If next year's Nom Con is going ahead in the same spot then maybe you guys could have a word with management about their staffs attitude and respecting all paying guests and not just the ones in 'normal' clothes.
Reading back over this it all sounds so negative so here is some positive...
Nate and Lorraine, both of you pulled off an amazing Convention, you had wonderful staff who didnt stop smiling from Friday afternoon to Sunday night. I have come away with new friends (who I cant wait to see again) I know I was meant to be working all weekend (and 19hours of footage is proof that I was) but I still had so much fun and I really cannot wait for Nom Con 2011.
Thank you all so much for a weekend that I will never forget

I was forced to leave the Closing Ceremony early D: My parents did have to actually sleep that night and they were giving me a lift home... It's obviously not your fault that everything ran in to everything else but I would've loved to stay and see who won the skits and other competitions! (Er... if anyone wants to enlighten me as to who won that and the Art Competition I would love you forever XD) I can't really say anything bad about it. The only qualm was the very very end, otherwise I found everything to be extremely enjoyable. Maybe more entries for the Art Competition though! Extra advertising next year? Or an available space to quickly sketch something? (XD I just didn't like being the only under 16, and then being unable to stay and see who won) Also balloon guy was amazing. Bring him back please

I'd say the reason why there were so few art entries might have been the theme? I would have entered but I fail at drawing umbrellas.
Oh and the Ze Gay group won the group skit and the Nobody won the single, and Ruth/MiniBubble won the over 16s art, I believe. (if I got that wrong, correct me)

Loved every minute of it. But I do agree that there was a bit crowd control problems and maybe a bit more interactivity with the panels. Lure them people in. All is fine though. what we can do is make Nom-Con 2011 rock the socks of this years Con. Next year will be more epic !

Oh yes, one suggestion from me. During the catwalk, it would be best to tell everyone walking in it to pose for at least 5 seconds because some digital cameras can take a few seconds to take a picture.
