for the karaoke you should also let people do normal songs (green day, paramore, boyzone )

that way more people might get up to sing their favourite song

I don't think that's doable, unfortunately. The karaoke setup we have is a collection built up over ten years of anime conventions across Europe. It's custom-made.

Also, karaoke with mainstream songs is easy to find. Ukiyo's runs individual karaoke booths until late at night. At Nom-Con we only have a certain amount of time to let people sing songs they won't be able to sing anywhere else but at another anime convention.

Chocolate microscopes, oh and those guitars that are like double guitars. God I watch the simpsons way too much, I've seen some episodes so many times I think I'm in some of them.

He does have a point, but it's still not doable. It would require sourcing a completely different lineup of all sorts of mainstream songs that you can already get in any pub doing a karaoke night, getting them prepped and on the same system as the anime and j-pop songs (which is a system I didn't make and have no idea how to alter) and given that it's an anime convention people are more likely to want to hear or sing Japanese songs which would render the effort largely pointless.

Part of karaoke is getting the song wrong and still having fun with it. After all, everyone knows the Pokemon song, at least.

I wasnt at nomcon this year so im not sure if we did have this.

A Workshop - Instructions on how to draw stuff, Normally a guest would do a panel on manga or it could just be one on one conversations + tips and so on.
