Cannot wait for this prom! I like the idea mentioned a while ago of an under 18s and over 18s king and queen (king and king, queen and queen)

Ok, so once and for all, WHAT counts as formal wear? Make a list!
(Tux, dress, school uniform, military uniform, kimono...gothic lolita?)

Okay, here's the list of things that count:
*Ballgowns *Tuxedos *Lolita clothing *Certain school uniforms (ie: elaborately designed ones such as Miator is Strawberry Panic or Ouran, but not K-on) *Certain military uniforms, but make sure they're pressed and shoes are shined *Ceremonial Asian dress *Sharp suits, like zoot suits or teddy boy.
What you can't wear:
*Sportswear *Miniskirts *Denim *Sneakers or Converse *Casual cosplay (as in, ninja outfits, soul reaper hakamas and school uniforms that don't qualify as fancy).

This oughta be interesting, I left school before my year's formal so I ain't actually done that kinda thing before.
Now.. I'll probably have to hunt down a date.. I'll need a stick, and something to hide behind!
...or I could just go stag, I guess, never been a problem before. xD

What about the Spica School Uniform from Strawberry Panic?

What about the Spica School Uniform from Strawberry Panic? Lovely as it is, it's too short to be considered formal. You need something more in the line of a cocktail dress.
