Please please please be super careful with these types of contact lenses - I used them before for a Nightcrawler costume and ended up with a really bad eye infection! So if you're buying them make sure you are paying for DECENT quality!

Please please please be super careful with these types of contact lenses - I used them before for a Nightcrawler costume and ended up with a really bad eye infection! So if you're buying them make sure you are paying for DECENT quality! I completely agree. I highly recommend cosplayers to do the Specsavers contact lenses scheme instead of just purchasing lenses online or over the counter. It is illegal for shops and websites to sell cosmetic lenses to someone who never got their eye examined or fitted. Not everyone is eligible to wear lenses even if they are fake so an eye test is very important and it doesn't take long. It only cost me 15E for the eye test as it was on special offer for the month. Then it costs 32E for the lenses teach which they teach you how to put them in your eyes and take them out. I am still ongoing this process, tomorrow will be my third time trying to put them in my eyes. ;-p Specsavers also sell crazy eye lenses but they cost 60E for a month. So in the end it cost me a total of 107E I know that sounds like alot of money oppose to just paying less then 60E for the lenses but it is your sight you are playing around with and because I am part of this scheme I have to go back and get my eyes looked at to check up to make sure my eyes are in good health. In the end of the day you have to ask yourself is it worth it wearing the contacts and are you really into perfection? I know lenses look amazing but they are not toys and it is very important that you see an eye doctor every once in a while to make sure you don't get infections. There are lot more involved in lenses then the lenses like caring for them.

I guess I'm lucky then that I know how to wear lenses properly due to me needing perscription lenses.
But Ho-Hell....If I want coloured prescription contact lenses in the colour I want, it'll cost me 170..and they last for a month.....yet I can get better ones for twenty euro...
I think I'm going to take my chances and go blind for a few hours ;D
Also, this isn't going to be the best thing to say, but it is possible to extend the life of those lenses. Pour example. I was able to turn daily contacts into weekly contacts. My brother knows how to do it properly, so I will get the instructions for ye once he wakes up.

I just stick with my dailies, regardless of the characters eye color. Even though I would love to wear colored ones for say photoshoots, maybe an hour or so, but I wouldn't wear them for longer. Eye doctor says I can't wear colored ones at the moment, but that could change.
And Roxas, your just as blind as me, surely you don't actually walk into things without glasses? XD

Yeah I see what people mean by just chancing their arm buying lenses for less then a tenner or 20-30 E then paying 60E from an eye specialist. I got red eye contacts from Specsavers which costs me 60E for only a month. I have seen good lenses online which are the same which are only 30E but not sure how long their last. I just went with Specsavers to be safe as quality is important but thanks to the lenses thread on cosplay.com they have trusted lenses sites which you can get them alot cheaper which is good. If I didn't buy the red lenses the eye test and teach would have only cost me less then 50E and I could have bought lenses cheaper elsewhere. Lenses are hard enough to put in your eyes so I just think it is important to be thought how to do it right be thought how to look after them. Then again they are some people who risked it and just bought lenses online and were fine but I didn't want to risk it. Everything has their pros and cons. Specsavers also gave me solution and a lenses case in the price so it is worth it. That would be handy.

Sorry for double posting but I really need someone to help me out here. I am in a dilemma one of the lenses got torn and I rang Specsavers about it and they told me to throw it out and that I would have to pay 30E for a single lens, also they will have to order them in and they are not sure they will get it in on time before the Eirtakon.
So I have big question so please help me lenses wearers I am thinking of buying red lenses in Asha or one of those tattoo/goth shops are they safe to wear, what are they like as in quality?

@ butterscotch They are good in quality but they aggrivate your eyes after a while. I got blue ones for my Hikari Konohana cosplay for Eirtakon and when I tested them, they were fine. My eyes kinda felt like I was staring at a computer for hours when I took them out though.
